The Darkest Minds

The darkest minds is a book by Alexandra Bracken it was published by Disney Hyperion. This book is about a girl named ruby who was put in a recovery camp when she was 10 because kids were dying and not many were still alive and the ones that were still alive had abilities, Ruby was an orange who has mind control powers, blue has telekinesis, green is smart, yellow is electrokinetic and red is pyrokinetic powers all the yellows, oranges and reds were taken away so Ruby got into one of the guys heads and said she was a green. Ruby is now 16 and has been in the camp for six years one of the doctors that also works for the children league found out that Ruby was an orange and broke her out. After Ruby escaped, she ran off from the lady that helped her and found a bunch of kids named Liam, Chubs and Zu. Liam, Chubs and Zu were looking for the slip kid that helps kids that have escaped camps or haven’t been to one. Ruby joins them to try and find the slip kid.

The word difficulty is just right for me/ high school students. The thing I most liked about the book was how the character all had a great relationship and how they were all loving towards each other the whole book was amazing. The thing I didn’t like was the end because it was really sad. There weren’t any illustrations through out the book. I recommend this book highly.

Thanks for the review -the book sounds intriguing! ANd I don't mind sad endings - as long as I don't finish reading a sad book in public!
